ICON joined Dräger Medical and Gambro at AACN’s 35th annual National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition®. ICON was present at Dräger and Gambro’s booths presenting products and services such as live, 24x7 clinical support, web services and IISIS. In addition, ICON educational specialists presented live lectures with Mark Bauman, RN, MS, CCRN presenting Implications and Application of Non-invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation at the Dräger booth and Tammy Russo-McCourt, RN, BSN, CCRN presenting Anticoagulant Options and Considerations Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) at the Gambro booth. Participants received AACN approved continuing education credit for the lectures.
Dräger and Gambro utilize ICON’s Critical Care Resource Center (CCRC) to optimize 24x7 clinical support and access to a multi-professional staff for their customers. By providing “immediate” access to ICON, clinicians receive instant support to troubleshoot and remedy alarms, obtain information on advanced enhancements and features and review the latest in clinical data with an experienced critical care clinician. ICON’s multi-professional staff includes intensivists, critical care nurses, respiratory therapists, PharmD and registered dietician.
ICON demonstrated web services and IISIS at the Gambro and Dräger booths. ICON’s web services include clinical documents, self-directed continuing education, image gallery and case studies, all of which are developed through the multi-professional process. This collaboration between professional groups promotes a thorough approach to clinical therapies and topics giving a well rounded overview. IISIS is a powerful browser-based software that allows healthcare providers to access real-time patient and device data from remote locations. IISIS can be used with Dräger ventilators and Gambro’s Prismaflex machine to provide central and remote monitoring of device data where multiple clinicians are able to simultaneously view the same patient’s data. With IISIS, clinicians can increase collaboration in the care of critically ill patients.
ICON services are exclusive to Dräger Medical for mechanical ventilation and Gambro for CRRT. ICON provides clinical support with 24x7 access to a “live” clinician and a multi-professional staff. With increased workload and nursing and respiratory therapist shortages, ICON’s revolutionary CCRC gives clinicians the direct dial resources they need to provide safe and effective patient care.
